Heather Picart

Heather Picart (she/her) is an Associate at Mending the Chasm and Clinical Director of Positive Circles, a counselling agency in Durham and Greater Toronto. Specializing in fostering relationship skills and conflict management, she supports the mental health of youth, couples, and families. Heather collaborates with agencies, educators, and churches for inclusive clinical treatment and counselling, irrespective of socio-economic or ethnic background.
A Liberty University graduate in Professional Counselling and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals, Heather draws on her studies in Indigenous social work, her identity as a racialized Black woman, and her faith to promote diversity and inclusion awareness. As a Black woman with Afro-Caribbean roots and a first-generation Canadian, she is a wife, mother, and community member in Pickering on Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississauga territory.
